Breakfast Blitz
Sacred Heart Academy is participating in a Breakfast Blitz, to help fill our KES Cupboards, on Thursday, February 27, 2025. We are asking you to please send along a donation to support our school’s Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Club. If you wish, you may make your donation online at www.kidseatsmart.ca and designate Sacred Heart Academy to receive your gift. Remember $20 is breakfast for a child for one month! It’s important that we fill our KES cupboards to ensure our children start their days well-nourished and ready to learn.
FoodFirstNL Partnership Survey
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of Food First NL’s province-wide Next Steps for School Meals Consultations
(https://www.foodfi rstnl.ca/projects/next-steps-school-meals), we hope to engage your school community in gathering ideas and input on what an inclusive, non-stigmatizing, and accessible school lunch program should look like at your child(ren)’s school(s). We have partnered with the Department of Education to launch our surveys through the Thought Exchange Platform. The surveys are available online via the following link: https://tejoin.com/scroll/945926426
We kindly ask that the surveys be completed by Wednesday, March 5 2025.
Thank you so much for your help in shaping and informing our recommendations for a successful expansion of school meal programming in our province. Feedback from your family is essential to finding school lunch solutions that work for your school community.
Warm Regards,
Ashley Byrne

School Development Survey
Subject: Request for Feedback – Family Survey
Dear Parent/Guardian,
School Development Surveys are conducted annually to gather feedback from students, staff, and parents/guardians to inform the school development process. The survey results will be provided to your child’s school and used with other data to identify the school’s strengths and challenges. Your child’s school will then create and implement a plan to build on successes and address areas of challenge.
The survey is anonymous, which means that we cannot connect your survey responses to you. We encourage everyone to participate so that we have the most accurate representation of family perceptions at your school.
The Family Survey will be available on February 24th, 2025. Please complete the survey by April 4th, 2025 by clicking on the following link: https://ca.research.net/r/SDFamily2425EN. If you do not have internet access contact your school.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the school development surveys, please contact:
Allan Johnson at 709-729-7831 or allanjohnson@gov.nl.ca or
Patricia Emberley at 709-729-6850 or patriciaemberley@gov.nl.ca
Thank you for your participation and for being a valued member of your school community.
